KIN | Center of Light

KIN supports its partners’ efforts to offer ESL classes but doesn’t provide financial support, with the exception of a unique collaborative ESL program hosted at West Park Baptist Church. As such, funds are needed and necessary to expand the ESL programs into lower-income neighborhoods where classes are limited or non-existent, especially where newly arriving refugees are being settled. Several churches in East Knoxville have enthusiastically offered space to host the classes, but they have limited resources to fund the comprehensive programs needed for successful integration. KIN and COL are asking for $7150 to be able to expand the reach of ESL and Life Skills classes into specific communities among international populations.
